Hi,

I've a laptop with a lot of offline files. When I started
it up this Monday, the winlogon.exe hang and uses all CPU
ressources. I figured out that it is related to my offline
files. I copied the WINNT\CSC folder to another computer
and set the registry settings in NetCache and started up
this computer with the same result - winlogon.exe hang.

My problem now is, that I have to access these offline
files. Is there a tool giving me control over the files
having the directory info (the 00... files), because as I
think I found out there the translation from the 80...
filenames to the original filenames exists. Or does anyone
know the file format so I can try to retrieve the filename
translations?

Please advise.

Thank you
Manfred

Offline files aren't stored as the individual file names. I personally
detest Offline Files; have seen too many problems with it - see
www.centered.com and check out Second Copy - it is *much* better and isn't
very expensive.

Do you have a lot of data you haven't sync'd?

There's a W2k resource kit utility that will help you manage the cache
location of offline files, but I don't know that it will help you in this
situation.
