I have set up a VPN to my office W2003 SBS server.
I have 3 PCs trying to work using the same Offline Files. All of the files
to be synchronised are in the same directory on the server and are used by
all 3 users.
I have mapped a drive (H to the "myfiles" directory and another (T to
the "Users/myfiles" directory. Both are the same location in real terms.
When I enable offline files in the H: drive, I cannot always see all of the
files in the T: drive, even though they are the same files.
I get a small computer icon with an explaination mark in the system tray.
When I click this and say "work online", the contents of the T: drive comes
back.
These PCs are constantly connected via the VPN, but it is too slow to open
files "live", hence the OLF setup.
My questions: Why are the two drives showing different contents?
Are we synching drive mappings or folders?
We are trying to synch about 2Gb of fairly large files. We are failing to
get a 100% OLF synch (it took over 100hrs to upload the files to the server
in the 1st place). Could this be because I am trying to synch 3 PCs to the
same folder using a single broadband router? Is this just TOO much to ask?
Many thanks for reading this far....
