Greetings --

You need to examine the Product Key very carefully. It's awfully
easy to mistake a "B" for an "8," a "G" for a "6," an "S" for a "5,"
or a "Q" for a "0" or "O." Fortunately, Microsoft had the good sense
to leave the "1's," "I's," "O's," and "0's" out of the equation.
Also, be sure that your CapsLock if _off_ while entering the Product
Key.

Mrtee;
Actually Caps lock will have no effect.
I have tried it with various versions of Windows and Office and the
key never rejects whether caps lock on/off, shift key used etc.

Instead of reading the Key which you wrote on the disk, read the printed key
from the sticker on the back of the jewel case. If you are sure you entered
this correctly contact microsoft for a replacement

Are you sure you are not talking about product activation? I believe that
the activation code is different for each PC and is created according to
what hardware is present which is why the original activation code will not
work. Try going to product activation and doing it all again (you may need
to go over the phone and explain your situation, I'm not sure if the
internet way will work since you have already activated it). I could be
wrong though...

Hope this helps

Don't me to rain or your parade, but I've seen several instances
where the CapsLock _did_ make a difference. ;-}

Bruce;
For the last several months whenever I have installed anything with a
Product Key (lots of MSDN stuff) it all works whether caps lock is
on/off shift pressed or not and any combination during input. This
excludes numbers.
MSDN Server 2003, Office XP Pro, Windows XP Home and others
Retail: Office Teacher and Student, Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro,
Server 2003, Front Page 2002.
Trial etc. Windows XP RC1 and 2, Server 2003 RC 1 and 2.
And others.

I have yet to find one that fails.
Obviously not a complete list, but gets a little close.

I'm not denying your experiences and observations, merely pointing
