Office XP Access to Office 2007 Access problem

I have access database running fine on a deck top with Win XP. Then I
bought a lap top with Win Vista business and Office Visa (2007). I had to do
the upgrade to the access files which worked fine. But now it only partially
runs. It opens fine and allows searches etc, all the data is there, it just
won't let me change any field. It comes up with a message like 'you may have
opened a read only file'. Has anyone experienced this before? It is a
windows security or access security problem I suspect.
How do I fix this?

Hi Ross,

I haven't experienced that problem (yet), but have you tried the following
solution: create a new Access 2007 database and import all objects from the
troubled database, in that case you're sure you're the owner of all objects.
