Office X Excel Add-In Problem (mac)

When trying to use the stats Add-In "MegaStat", I get:
"Compile error in hidden module: ThisWorkbook"
The Add-In came on a CD that accompanied a statistics textbook.
Excel doesn't crash but I can't use the Add-In.

This happens in both Office X in OS 10.2 and Office 98 in OS 9.2.
The Windows version on the CD does work, I was told.

Any ideas?
