Office home and student error

i have just got a new laptop with office 2007 pre loaded and it worked
perfectly up until a few days ago. the whole screen when grey, the colour all
programmes go when there not selected, anyway i tryed to type anything on all
office software and a message comes up in the bottom-left corner saying
""this modifacation is not allowed because the selection is locked.""?????

Not in this NG; try an Office group. This group is for Windows XP
Embedded, which is rather far from office.
