It does, but it looks like a crappy dinosaur out of place in the new digs.
I'd upgrade mine, but I use it so infrequently & I don't need more functions
than I can do in Excel as it is....... but it's an eyesore for sure

It is because I think that hard work *is* such a wonderful
thing, that I do my best to encourage others to share in it!

What? That's the silliest reason I've ever read for
upgrading; you have a distorted view of usage.
Besides, maybe the OP's like me and for valid reasons,
needs BOTH 97 and a later version of Word. WD97 has 3
very specific and unique capabilities that were lost in
2000 and forward.

Word97 is faster, more efficient, produces smaller
files, etc.. If it does all one needs, there is no
reason to upgrade it. Version, like the app itself, is
a personal preference and need.

I use XP in full classic mode, so the older application look works for me..
if an application is only judged by its appearance, I would suggest that the
user of the application has little idea on how to get the best out of it..

I agree. I use Word97 almost exclusively. I tried Word2000 but it felt
like I'd put on 100 lbs. of excess weight.
