Office 97 Service Release 2 (SR-2)

Does anyone know if Office 97 Service Release 1 and 2 need
to be reapplied if any of the Office components needed to
be reinstalled?
Also, will it hurt to just reapply them?

Not 100% sure...but I believe so.

Nope...not at all. Re-install to be safe. If you check your office cd, often
they are already sr1. It depends

However, for a trouble free install, you need:

sr1
sr2b
jet35sp3.exe

That last one, the jet update is real important also.
