Hi,
We have some laptops with Win XP Pro and Office 97 Pro. We have a problem
with PowerPoint. When the user is attached to our network, everything
works fine. When they are disconnected from the network, PowerPoint starts
to have problems. They can't save documents that they opened and made
changes to. Also, when they select text and go to the Format menu and
select Fonts, they get the error message "PowerPoint has encountered a
problem that it can't fix. Save and restart ...". Office 97 Pro was
installed from an Office 97 Pro with SR1 cd. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled Office and can't fix the problems. The laptops belong to our
domain, and so do the users. The user does not have a local account on the
laptop and log in to the domain wether attached to our network or not.
When we first started with these machines, we discovered this issue and
fixed it by adding the domain user to the local machine as a Power User.
Now, for some reason the problem has returned and I can't fix it. I even
made the user an administrator and it still won't work. However, the local
Administrator account does not have the problem while not connected to our
network.
Thanks in advance for your help.
