office 97 - access won't start

hi.

i just purchased a new copy of office97 professional
edition upgrade. came in a sealed box! don't know when
this was actually printed/released. but it is a new
licensed copy.

i have two of the required upgrade "from" products on cds
but not installed on my machine. one of them is microsoft
works 4.5 and it will not install on windows 2000. also
have lotus smartsuite97 not installed. and lotus
smartsuite milenimum installed. was hoping that the
office97 installation would ask me to insert one of the
required "upgrade from" cds in the drive. but it did not.

all of the other office97 applications (word, excell, etc)
run. but when i try to start access97, i get the error
message "access can't start because there is no license for
it on this machine".

could anybody please explain - why am i having this
problem? during the installation process, i input the
cd-key and the installation ran. everything else in
office97 works. does anybody know what's wrong with access97?

i also have microsoft office 2000 professional running on
this machine as well. is that the problem?
