I downloaded and installed the latest Windows update this morning
(another security patch that is probably meaningless in my 56K dialup,
one-user environment), and find now that at least two of my Office 97
programs, Outlook (actually 98, upgraded from 97) and Excel will not
run. Both try to start but grind their wheels and do nothing, not
even using any CPU time, if I can believe the Task Manager. I X'd out
of both of them several times, got the send-error-report-to-MS
dialogs, and chose to send the reports.
I'd like to uninstall the update, but there are no dates in the Remove
Programs updates list and I don't see an update folder with today's
date in the Windows directory. Exactly how do I go about backing the
latest update out?
Thanks for your any help anyone can offer.
