The 'Student Edition' is not for commercial use.
My retailer says if it's used for this, Microsoft will know.
How ??

They have their ways..................

They won't really, at least not directly. It's not as if the Student
Edition can intuit "commercial use" and send email to MS.

It's a legal gambit -- the same as any other conditions of a license
agreement.

__If__ MS discovers you use it in violation of the license agreement,
it gives MS the legal leverage to seek legal remedy.

So how would they find out? Well, if you were stupid enough to post
in a blog how you are getting away with it, and it catches MS's
attention (e.g. someone rats you out)....

Even then, whether or not MS would take action against you depends on
whether it's worthwhile.

But before you rest too comfortably, recall that the music industry
took legal action against individuals who violated the download
restrictions -- and (for now) won judgments in the $millions!

(Whether or not those judgments will stand the test of appeals is yet
to be seen. It might take many years.)
