I am runing vista and have several email accounts I need to control
seperately. Want to be prompted when starting outlook as to which one to
open. In my control panel i do not have a mailbox icon, nor under user
accounts is there a mail icon. Please help

In Vista use Classic View of the Control Panel
Presumably you wish to create Seperate Profiles containing the specific mail
accounts?
Allthough Outlook 2007 can be configured so that each mail account has its
own default folders (Inbox/Outbox etc) and data file
See;
http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/sortmail.htm
Directly assign the account a Folder Set

In Microsoft Windows, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
Do one of the following:
Windows Vista Click User Accounts, and then click Mail.
Note In Classic view, double-click Mail.

Microsoft Windows XP Click User Accounts, and then click Mail.
Note In Classic view, double-click Mail.

The Mail icon won't appear unless you have Outlook installed and have run
the program at least once.

Thank you for your reply DL,
I have tried this but there is no mail icon at all. Not even in classic
view. My wife and I use the same computer with differant email address's and
this is getting confusing. On my old computer it was no problem and worked
great. Problem, is i cant find mail icon anywhere, contacted HP and they
told me to contat MicroSoft as it is there issue

If your version of Vista is 64bit you need to view 32bit control panel
As said in the MS response Outlook has to have been configured, initially

thank you kindly
