I followed the instructions for using Contacts as my Outlook Address Book --
but when I got to step two -- on the Outlook Address tab select "show this
folder as my email address book -- the check box and option were both grayed
out so I could not select them. How can I access this option. Please be
specific in the steps..

In God I Trust

Option would exist unless you have a corrupt Outlook profile. Tell us how
you corrupted yours.

I didn't post the question, but I have the same one. I followed all the
troubleshooting directions for how to fix the problem, and it didn't work.
Can you explain what to do if the profile is corrupt? I don't know how it
would have gotten corrupted in the first place, but how should I fix it?
Thank you!

You must first verify your version. If it is Outlook 2007, are you saying
that you cannot add the Outlook Address Book Service in Tools > Account
Settings > Address Books?

Dear Russ,

How would I know the answer to the question -- how did I corrupt my file? I
moved my Outlook 2002 address over to 2007 using the eash transfer cable and
cable program. That is all I know.

If the file is corrupt what are the specific steps I would take to fix it or
to get an uncorrupted file. Please be specific since I know very little
about this type of procedure.

Ah, yes. Good old Windows Easy Transfer. Never use that for Outlook. It
creates a corrupt profile every time. Don't worry. The data itself is fine
and its easy enough to create a new profile from scratch where everything
will work:

Just make sure you know the name and location of your Outlook data file so
you can reuse it in the new profile.

Correct, Outlook 2007. And also correct, the OAB is already showing as type
MAPI, but I cannot modify it, remove it or add a new one. I really
appreciate your help.
