I have a pc with Office 2007. Because my faxing/Unified Messaging software
is not yet compatible to Office 07, I unistalled Outlook 2007 and reinstalled
Outlook 2003. Now the company's global address book is no where to be seen.
The user's contact file is there, but not the global. Everything else works
fine.

How do I get the Global Address Book to display?

When you setup your Outlook Email Account on Office 2003, did you set it up
as a Microsoft Exchange Account?

Yes - user's mailbox is fine - all emails are sending & receiving fine -
user's contact folder is fine - just no global address book

Yes - user's mailbox is set up correctly - all emails are sending and
receiving fine - user's contact folder is fine - just no global address book

The two most common reasons why the GAB will not show:

1) The email account was setup as something other than a Microsoft
Exchange Account such as POP3 or IMAP

2). The user account in Active Directory has not been granted rights to
view the GAB on the Exchange Server.

Otherwise, try turning off "Cached Mode" on your email account. Afterwards,
logout of Outlook and log back in. See if the GAB reappears.

The user is set up as an Exchange Account. I set the user up on a different
computer - the Global Address Book was there - thus it is not a user account
issue. I turned off Cache Mode - nothing changed. My Unified Messaging/Fax
program still did not work properly, even after installing Outlook 2003
(could receive but not send faxes), so I unistalled Office 2007 completely
and reinstalled Office 2003. The problem still remains - the GBA is still
not viewable.

Tried to remove email profile, but was unable to. Removed user from PC and
removed user settings from C drive. Added user back to PC and set up user's
email again. Global Address Book is now viewable. Still having fax issues,
but that is a different vendor issue.

I seem to be having the same issue. Just this last week i received a new
laptop. I loaded it up with XP Pro SP2 and Office 2007 Pro Plus. Apparently
Outlook 2007 doesn't work with Exchange 2003 or it is prevented from working
on purpose by my company. I then uninstalled office 2007 and installed
Office 2003 Pro. My outlook appeared to work fine but i quickly found out
that i had no global address book. It makes it difficult to send e-mails,
since i have to look up everyone's e-mail address. I'm looking for a way
to fix this issue without removing my profile. I'm guessing that the Office
2007 uninstalled leaves some residual files or registry settings that just
need to be cleaned up before installing office 2003

I was able to fix my issue by deleting the mail profile in the control panel
and the outlook config settings in C:\Documents and Settings\%Username%\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Then I created a new mail
profile and everything works fine.

Thanks for the help
