I am about to get a new Vista machine and want to migrate my Outlook2007 from
my XP machine to the Vista machine. I think I know how to do the .pst file
but any idea how to get all my email accounts out if the registry and
imported to the new machine - I have some 15 accounts and so don't really
want to re-enter them all again manually.

Thanks

There's no good way to do that, except to buy a tool that allows it. See
http://www.outlookbackup.com/export-outlook.html or
http://www.totalidea.com/content/outsource/outsource-index.html for
examples.

Brian - thanks for your help - that's clear enough - pity MS couldn't have
provided something as moving between machines is a common enough issue.

Office 2003 provided just such a tool, called the Save My Settings Wizard.
One post in one of the OUtlook newsgroups indicates that yuou can install
that wizard from an Office 2003 installation kit and it will work for
Outlook 2007. It makes sense to me that it would, since the registry
entries and files it copies should be similar for the two Office versions.

Started the move before I tread this, but I did use Windows Easy Transfer on
the Outlook data - this moved all the account data except the passwords, so
relatively easy to enter those again. Had a few isses along the way, but
managed to sort those out and have all my Outlook safely moved from XP to
Vista now.

I think you're lucky. There have been many reports of the Windows Easy
Transfer Wizard doing a less-than-stellar job on Outlook. Nonetheless, it's
good you've sorted it.
