Office 2007 installed .xlsx file not recognized

Installed Office 2007 everything seems okay, except .xlsx is an unrecoginized
file format.

Checked file types and .xlsx is not a listed file type. Is there a quick
way to add the .xlsx file type and all the normal actions?

Can you open XL? If so go to Office Button>Excel Options and then the
Resources tab. Click on Office Diagnostics and it should repair it. You will
need the original DVD

That fixed it.

Note: I did not need the dvd. Did a cache then ran all the installs from c
drive.
