Hi there,

I have installed Office 2007 Pro Plus on Vista RC2. The problem i have is
that when i open any office app, the installer pops up and then the
configuration app as if it thinks it is the first time im am opening the
app. also when i open excel i get a pop up box that gives me the following
error "stdole.tlb".

Please could anyone tell me what i must do to resolve this issue.

Thanx in advance

The OP has multiposted this issue . He also has posted this in the Office groups already

Are you doing this under a Standard Admin or User account? Its possible
Office is asking for Admin priviledges to install properly. I would open the
Office disc > right click the setup executable and choose 'Run as
Administrator".

Also, not necessarily an office problem. I had the same type of problem
when I installed Roxio EMC8 on an XP X64 system. Every time I opened any of
several applications the install for some other Microsoft application would
pop up. Word, Streets and others caused this as well as OE.

During the end of the install, you are asked if you want to leave the
install files on the computer. They tell you that this is recommended. Yet,
many people decide to have the installer delete the install files. Had you
left the install files on the computer you would not be seeing this, as what
Office is looking for would be there.

The other way to eliminate this problem is to perform a custom and
"complete" install. This installs every byte/bit from the CD onto the
computer.

Too many people choose not to do the above two items because it eats an
extra 400-600 meg of disk space. Heck, with hard drives the sizes that they
are today I see no reason for *NOT* doing them. If you don't, you had better
keep your Office CD in a handy location.

i had the same prob. on vista rtm x64, with office 2007 pro plus. i had
to reinstall vista to get it to go away - my original install had been
an upgrade over rc2.
