If guess is right - the actual issue you have encountered is "Folder is
Full" when attempting to display the folder - something we've run across
more than once with contact folders. Would highly recommend providing
complete details and <exact> messages to avoid people having to guess as to
what exactly is occuring on your system.
If this issue doesn't go away after
1) closing and restarting Outlook (50/50 chance at the problem resolving
itself but if it doesn't the first time you close/re-open Outlook -
it's a
permanent issue with the folder that won't change over time
2) running ScanPST on the PST file (seldom changes anything)
highly unlikely there is a single step easy solution - leastwise have never
found one but have always been able to recover the data (if and when
required since usually this has only occured on test configs). Just a FYI -
uninstalling and reinstalling is pointless and detect 'n repair also won't
do any good since the issue is in the PST file (assuming the folder is PST
based).
Minimal info required:
- folder type (i.e. mail, contacts etc)?
- exact message(s)?
- is this a <default> folder (is the Inbox in your folder group)?
- are custom forms in use and/or published to the folder?
- is this from a PST folder or Exch (have never encountered the problem
on an Exch folder)
- was the PST file from a pervious Outlook config or newly created?
- any Addins in use?
As mentioned - recovery steps required depends completely on whether or
not this involves your <default> mailbox set of folders and that assumes
that
you don't have a backup and can start over which would be the easiest
solution of all.
