What's your experience in applying services packs to previous Access
versions
?
Did it usually give any benefit or maybe it's better to wait until first
test and apply minor fixes-post-SP?

Thanks

Go ahead.

Service packs have rarely created problems in Access. There were so many
bugs in Access 2000 that the service packs were absolutely essential. You
really must have at least SP2 for A2002 as well.

My understanding is that the new SP1 for Office 2003 did not address very
many Access issues, so the chances of it causing a problem are minimal.

With a couple of problem areas you must stay away from (esp. Name
AutoCorrect, and subforms where the LinkChildFields are not represented by
controls in the subform), 2003 is the most stable version of Access ever
released. There are still lots of unfixed bugs, but it is possible to set it
up so that crashes and corruptions are rare.
