I've got several presentations that will go up on our intranet so that student can go over the material at their own speed, unfortunately many of them print out the info... that's a lot of paper! We purchased Office 2003 in order to stop this, but it seems to be all or nothing with the permissions.

Is there a way in which I can let students view the presentation, but not print them out

Tks,
Amy

Shyam's got a new FREE add-in built that makes it so that only handouts can
be printed (multiple slides per page), would that work?. It's called "Save
the Trees". Info can be found here:

Hello Amy,

You can use the new Permission feature of Office, which leverages
Information Rights Management (IRM) technology of the Windows Rights
Management Services for Windows Server 2003, to restrict what someone can
do with a presentation (Word document, Excel workbook, Outlook e-mail
message).

If the students don't have PowerPoint 2003 they can still view the
presentations using the Rights Management Add-on for Internet Explorer.

Amy,

In Office 2003 you can use IRM (Information Rights Management) to do as you
want, however the requirement is that you must have an IRM server to do so.
Microsoft provides such a server on a trial basis at no cost.
