I looked through the forum, and can't find my problem. Here it is:

I install MS Office 2003 from CD. When editing in Powerpoint - it will
"freeze" or hesitate for 2 to 10 seconds, then go again. This continues for
as long as I am in edit mode of Powerpoint.

I install MS Office XP - and all is good.
I have upgraded to a new laptop with 1GIG of RAM. I still have the above
problem with Office 2003 Powerpoint. I went to MS and updated all fixes.

Is it trying to do some networking things? If Office 2003 does do networking
things, can I stop it?
