Office 2003 Install

Frustrated in MA

I just purchsed a new upgrade package "Office Small
Business Edition 2003" because my new Sony Vaio notebook
only came with Works. The installation disk will not
work on the internal DVD/RW drive and Microsoft support
said to try using an external drive. I tried a Sony
CRX1650L CD/CDRW drive on Firewire and it won't work
either. Has anyone experienced this problem and found a
solution?

You are aware, aren't you, that Works hasn't been a qualifying product for
at least the last two Office releases? So, even if it did work, it wouldn't
be much use unless you had a qualifying product (97/2000/XP).
