office 2003 and office 2007 icons

I have one PC in our evironment where when office 2003 was installed all was
ok, layout fine and no problems. Then something happened/changed. The icons
became pixilated and the format/view/layout of any office application showed
in a retro, old school fashion. Other applications seem fine. Its almost like
Office has lost its fluffy fell and has changed to a plain text format...

I have now install Office 2007 and has inhertited the problem.. Now the
Office button has no color, just grey and the icons are dull and small.

Any ideas as i am completely lost with this one.

I have removed and re-installed and same problem, and have also logged on as
admin and still on another profile same issue. Am sure its not a hardware
issue as other apps are fine..

I have run a Diagnostics and took some time and did find one problem and
corrected it. However has not resolved the current problem. Still the office
icon in the top right is colorless and screen menus show in a plain text
format. I have checked through the view settings, but this problem is
happening in all Office apps...

please help...

In older versions of Office there was a Detect and Repair option in Help and
one of the options was to repair icons. However Detect and Repair has been
replaced in Office 2007 with Microsoft Office Diagnostics
To access Office Diagnostics do this:

Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Word Options button (lower
right corner of window)

1.. Click Resources.
2.. Click Diagnose, click Continue, and then click Start Diagnostics.
