Hi All,

Does anyone know of a way to prevent Office applications
from prompting for a Username & Initials when an
application is started?

We are using mandatory profiles, but when I examine the
user's profile, the correct username and initials are
populated in the registry.

However, they are still prompted for their username &
initials?

Anyone?

Hi Matthew, thanx for your reply. I did d/l regmon and
have used it to try and troubleshoot this. What appears
to be happening is the Office settings in the mandatory
profile are not getting populated in the HKCU profile
when the user logs in. If I check the registry before
the user starts Word, most of the Office registry keys
are non-existent, although they do exist in the mandatory
profile.

Is there a way to tell Windows to pull all this info from
the mandatory profile, or is there some flag that tells
Windows to set this user up from scratch?

Most of my mandatory settings work OK, except for the
Office applications. Just as an aside, my mandatory
profile is stored on another server, accessed via a UNC
path.

Any help you could give would be appreciated..

Dave.

If the user is using a mandatory profile, that profile
should include entries into the HKCU, correct?

Have you tried putting in the UserName and Initials using
install mode, and then seeing what happens?
