Problem:
Just wanted to query the community regarding a problem that I recently
encountered while performing upgrades to Outlook 2003. After the user has
had their Outlook upgraded to 2003 they will eventually access a menu item in
Outlook 2003 that triggers the Office 2000 Installer, the Office 2000
Installer recognizes that Outlook 2000 no longer exists, and proceeds to
reinstall the missing office application.
Result:
Unfortunately the result of the problem causes items to remain stuck in the
users Outbox. Probably the result of the complications of having both
Outlook 2000 and 2003 installed on the same computer. I've recognized that
their are other complications from having Outlook 2003 and Office 2000 as you
will not be able to use Word as your default mail editor.
Background:
The Office 2000 installation was created using a custom installation wizard,
and has access to the source installation files. Not possible to disable the
source without causing problems to other users who require older version of
Office 2000. Outlook 2003 was installed using a custom installation wizard
altering the source of Outlook 2003.
Solutions:
First wondering if someone has experienced this problem before?
Thanks,
Dave
