Office 2000 runs Installer whenever I open one of the suite

Hi

I have a PC that did have Win98 on it and I've just over-installed XP. I've
installed Office 2000 on it and now, whenever I start one of the Office
apps, a Windows Installer dialog box pops up and 'configures' and 'checks'
for about 30secs before closing and the app then runs as it should. Please
help - it's driving me mad.

You may want to try a one of the office newsgroups such as
microsoft.public.office.misc

Help with Office 2000 is available from
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.office.misc. You may want
to go to Help > Detect and Repair in the menu of any Office
application or simply re-run Office Setup to repair the installation.
