ok i suppose I should clarify myself a little.
an MSI is a database which controls the installation and
also repairs the installation.
in particular with Office each user requires the same
files / registry entries to allow office to run correctly.
however that information never gets delivered to the
machine. hence you are required to have FULL ACCESS back
to the install location for each new user as those little
bits that were left out of the install will be called back
well after the install on first run of an advertised entry
point (basically that means a shortcut)
So when those shortcuts are run its gonna go looking for
that CD which of course is never going to be in the
machines. !!!
