My new XP Pro Laptop (1.4Ghz Pentium M, 512M RAM) has difficulty running my
Office 2000. Mainly printing difficulties with WORD. Have a new Epson C82
(USB). Combo worked perfectly on my previous Windows ME PC.

Downloaded XP software upgrade, but it frequently jams when I simply try to
print a black-letter 1-pg. WORD .doc. XP sends error report (?) and takes
me to a Microsoft site that recommends an Office 2000 fix that it won't
allow me to download (something about my version of Office 2000, which I
bought in late '99 and really like). Don't like the new Office program, I'm
comfortable with 2000 and don't want to change. I've reinstalled my Office
2000 with no problems, but WORD is still balky. And I really don't want the
new gadgety Office product. Actually, I really didn't want XP but school
work required its wireless access.

Is there a patch for Office 2000 that Microsoft will allow download that
fixes the conflicts (?) with Office 2000 - particularly printing?

Thanks

I'd suggest asking this in one of the many Word newsgroups (they all start
microsoft.public.word)

This newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's
part of Office Professional.
