What only 40 MPG. I had a Galaxy that did 57 MPG 1998 1.9TDi Ghia x.
And guess what I want Another one:nod:
What one you got?

Bog standard 1.9 diesel 1996. It has done 308000 miles. That 40 mpg is an all around figure, town driving an lots of hills and narrow bendy roads an motorway driving at 70 mph+.
It is great as I can noesy into folks gardens and see over walls and hedges. Guess I can get better mpg if I drive slower on the motorway.
I want a new one as the rear seats fold flat into the floor, no lifting in and out. An I want the captains chairs that swivel around with arm rests.
I'm of camping in it if we get some summer this year. Blow up double bed in the back an I'm of adventureing along with me trusty 19 30'2 Primus.

Go go go Galaxy's.

:D

You have one of the first models:nod:

But they are a very good motor 308K still the same engine?
The one I had were a cracker it had just about every extra available it was a BT directors car.
Red i as in TDi
Did a run Swansea to Luton trip computer showed> 67MPG distance>210mls
average speed>68mph:thumb:

Yup same engine. Put a recon gearbox in last Dec. First an second gear share the same slip diff ring thingy an it went a week after I got it an have been driving for the last year with only a half functioning first an second gear. In an emergency I could have crashed the gears so there was no danger to anyone but it did mean I had to do some very niffty thinking to keep driving smoothly . Clutch eventually gave up so took the risk of getting the recon gearbox at the same time.
Ford changed engine types in about 1997 ish I think to a crossrail type I belive so maybe that is where you get the better milage from. 67 is darn impressive , you sure that was not kilometers :D

Secret to longevity in diesels is regular oil an filter changes and no high screaming revs an then they will run forever.

Yes changed engine from 90 BHP to a VW 1.9 110BHP

Yep it was MPG:p bloody brilliant it were.... Avg MPG 57

Yep thats it will go for ever>>>>>>>

Ah the woes of being poor. I always seem to be behind the times stuck with old tech.
If I had one of them newer engines I would be getting for the extra 17 mpg , £6.29 extra per gallon in me voulantry driving expenses. That would be like getting an instant rise of about 20% in income.

I actually want a Pajero when I pass my test, great price as well Itsme :thumb:

You get what you pay for the Pajero I have is in a class of its own! I have seen some really bad examples IE auto trader and local etc. Being a retired Jaguar technician I get any work required done to a very high standard by technicians I have either trained and/or who are known to be capable, as I would not accept shoddy workmanship.
