This is the main group I read about net protection so I am tempted to ask
this question in here: We have been getting several emails where the body of
the message consists of a few hundred seemingly random words... " copperhead
rheostat about simplex .............." And it goes on like that. What ever
can that be about or accomplish?

It is an attempt to fool clever anti spam methods by fabricating text
messages that are difficult to distinguish from real messages. Notice
that they never included typical spam words. However, they are always
multipart/alternative and so can be kill filtered on that header. This
may also catch a few real messages and so some higher priority watch
filters will be needed.

Indeed.

I found <http://www.jgc.org/tsc/> an interesting read on various methods
spammers _try_ to be clever.
