Durand:
Duh.............. Slapping forehead now.
I already had DNS Client Disabled.
In fact, I've had this disabled for quite a while.
I set it to Automatic, started it and....
IPCONFIG /displaydns Worked
IPCONFIG /flushdns
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
Right click Local Area Connection 3 | Repair
[The Repair Connection operation completed.]
Now to check those links. Nope, no good.
Well, at least I now know that if you want
IPCONFIG /displaydns
IPCONFIG /flushdns
to work the DNS Client Service needs to be running.
I double checked the Dependencies tab and, sure as God made little
green apples, there sits TCP/IP Protocol Driver.
I double checked TCP/IP in my Local Area Connection 3 and nothing
there had changed. Advanced TCP/IP Settings | IP Settings tab
still shows DHCP Enabled. But I can find no
mention of DNS Client any where in Local Area Connection 3
I can see that IPCONFIG /flushdns will get added to my housekeeping chores
from now on.
Durand, believe it or not you have been a great help. I didn't really
care if I got to those three addresses or not. But after you said you had
no problem, I was really curious, I still am.
Thank you for the help!

Durand;
Thanks for the reply. I already know, from experience, that if I
disable the Dhcp Service, I can't get online.
Start | Programs | Accessories | Communications | Network Connections |
Right click Local Area Connection 3 (Me)| Repair
And got this little gem:
[Repair Connection
The following steps of the repair operation failed:
Purging the DNS Resolver cache.
Please contact your network administrator or ISP.]
Hmm... I might have to get a hold of comcast and ask some questions.
Maybe I'll go offline and disable Dhcp and try flushing again.
Thanks again for the replies.

Wes,
I'm a little surprised that the dns cache couldn't be flushed despite
using the correct command multiple times. As a workaround, you could
temporarily stop the dns client service and try the website. If it
works, then it's obvious that the dns cache is poisoned. If you really
need the dns cache client, restart it and then try flushing it again to
see if it clears.

Thank you for the reply. Here's what I get and I don't know why:

It's been over 15 minutes and no errors in Event Viewer.
Just for laughs I tried this:

So, yes, from what little I've read, I could be poisoned. But;
these are the only links that I know that I can't access:

http://www.holersoft.com/download/winpersonalizer.exe

Any input would be appreciated.

Wes,
I checked the links and they worked fine on my end. Are you sure
you're not being blocked from accessing the website somehow? If
you're still unable to access the site, you might need to clear
your dns cache so it doesn't remain poisoned with expired pages
that have been corrected.

Durand

Doesn't matter if they're skilled at marketing or not. The links
don't work. I did a Search this morning for WinPersonalizer
before robot posted any links. I found two, one that does not
work and one at some Iranian download center that was in Farsi.

I saw that in the "Full-Page Advertisement" as a [New Post].
All the other ten or so reply-posts were extremely cut-down
versions, similar to the one in this thread, but none of them
had a link to the website. (Obviously not skilled in
marketing!)
