Exactly what do you mean?
Contact the seller of the OEM Product.
The seller is your source of support for OEM products.

If you mean the OPK - the OEM Preinstallation Kit, then the answer to your
question is "you don't".
If you are an OEM System Builder then you have access to this tool.

I have just received the Microsoft XP Media Center 2005 OEM which I purchased
on the WEB from Novapcs.com. It came with a Windows XP OEM Preinstallation
Kit disk. I am a single user of the pc in my home. Is this something I
should load prior to loading the 2005 Operating System? What is it used for?

No you do not need to use the Preinstallation Kit.
As a single home user it is not of much relevance to you.

Mike,
Well, I loaded the operating system (MCE 2005) with an OEM disk. And, I did
not use the OEM Preinstallation Kit. It allowed me to upgrade from MCE 2004
to MCE 2005. However, many files could not be found during the install. Now
my Media center responds that there is no tuner software on my pc...so I
reloaded it from my Toshiba install disk. It still has the same message, so
Media Center no longer works.
Also, it will not recognize my mouse software....and the reason that I
purchased the upgrade was to use the write to DVD function in Movie Maker
(but it's not there).

Should I do a clean install ? If so, will I have a problem re-activating it.

Any advice you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Lynda

Lynda,

OEM software kits are designed for use by Original Equipment Manufacturers
to pre install Windows to PCs they sell.
So they are usually designed to do a clean install and not upgrade.
Ideally you should do a clean install if you are using OEM media.
As regards your tuner card etc - MCE 2005 requires in many cases brand new
drivers. You need to contact the manufacturer of the component to check if
they have a MCE certified driver or that they have tested their driver under
MCE 2005.
