OK, you'll be fine. Just make absolutely sure you
also get the actual Windows XP OEM CD and the
Product Key. If the seller won't provide both, then
pass on the offer and purchase Windows XP Pro separately.
Unfortunately, there are some unscrupulous venders
installing a pirated version of Windows XP Pro and those
versions are not going to be permitted updates.

| I ask the question because I am being offered a computer with an OEM edition
| of XP Professional for an additional charge. When I asked what that
| implied, the reply was that it did not qualify for support and it did not
| come with a manual. Well, I can live with that, as long as I can still get
| updates from Microsoft and can, preferably, also run the automatic updates
| applet.
