Try it, if it won't activate use the phone option.

If it won't activate on the internet, use telephone activation and explain
the situation if you have to. You may not have to activate, but the hd that
Vista is installed on counts the most points toward needed activations.

What do you mean by this ? and isnt ther a way of un activating vista on
this Hard drive?

No such thing as "deactivation." You remove it from one and install on
another. If you are unable to activate over the internet, you need to use
the activate by phone option. Since this is an OEM version, if the hard
drive is the hardware purchased with the OEM version, then, that could be an
issue with activation. If you purchased some other piece of hardware with
it, then it probably won't be an issue. If you purchased no other hardware,
when asked if the hard drive was purchased with the OEM version, tell them
no!:-)

What was meant by points needed toward activation is the weight given to
various pieces of hardware that, if changed, might trigger the need to
activate. Depending upon what was changed and how much was changed, a user
might need to use the activate by phone option.
