HiMan
Hello Group,
http://www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/Default.aspx
after seeing this app mentioned here quite often, I'm testing it at the
moment on XP SP1, FAT not NTFS, OE6, I installed the full version.
I noticed, that backed up registry entries are saved with the normal .reg
extension, not with .rgg as described.
http://www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/backupreg.htm
Not a problem, but wondering. My setting for default action for .reg files
is Edit, could that make a difference?
Also the reg file heading shows "REGEDIT4", whereas XP reg files normally
show "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00".
As this is mentioned on the site
http://www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/Default.aspx
"For Windows XP, should you get an error upon running of a missing
Comctl32.ocx, it can be extracted from the XP CD in the
...Support\Tools\Support.cab (thanks Sky, for that info)", I assume the
program should work for XP? FWIW I have that file and don't see any error
messages.
I'm running into the problem, that I cannot save registry entries, while
logged in as a normal user. It works fine, if logged in as admin. I could
understand this for keys in Local Machine, but Current User? E.g., if I try
to save message rules, I get the Window to select path and file name and
when I click save, the program tells me "Message Rules Export Complete", but
there is no file? Am I missing something obvious?
