I changed my passward recently and also i have noticed that I can't see my
inbox messages as it has none.
In the doc and settings OE still has a inbox.dbx with 12mb but it doesn't
pick it up anymore.

My pc has no viruses as i checked all this.

I tried to copy the inbox, dbx to another file and importing this but it
fails as i get a can't read error on this file.

What can i do as my data is sensitive?

Why it happens:

Recovering the missing data: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx (#2 and #4)

Avoiding Such Corruption in Future:

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Disable Background Compacting [not available in SP2] and frequently
perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm

- WinXP SP2 only: Do not shut down your machine while Windows is
automatically compacting your message store.

- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.

hi

there is no
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general

your links came to conclusion that i need to buy 3rd party software to get
into my .dbx file which OE can't do because it cant read them from imports.

I just have several .dbx files i want to read again so what do i do and i
dont want to pay money for MS errors.

To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you include all of previous
message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup. I have no idea to what you're
referring or to whom you're replying. Thank you.

CrystalBall© says: The DBX file(s) is/are damaged (unusable). Using
third-party software, you /may/ be able to extract (some) messages from
them. Any messages (EML files) recovered can be dragged into an open OE
folder.
