I have run into the same problem. Just got a new
computer and am unable to open any attachements. I get
the same message that you mention in your email.
Hopefully we can get any answer. If you do please email
me. Thanks, Carol
 
This is the Outlook NG not the Outlook Express NG but anyway open OE goto
Tools/Options/Security and uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved"
