What is Outlook from MSFT? It installed with my Office 2000 but I'm not sure
what it is. Looks like it's more than just a news/email proggy

Please, tell me you are kidding! I thought everyone (unfortunately)
knew of this beast.

Did you hear the one about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac?
He would stay up late every night and wonder if there was a dog.

This is possibly the most comprehensible comparison between the two:

In case the line above were linewrapped:

NB!!! Outlook doesn't have a news client! If you launch the newsreader from
Outlook, it actually opens Outlook Express!

The biggest difference is that Outlook itself is not a News client, so
you need something else (e.g. Outlook Express) to read newsgroups.

The next big difference (and one that *really* annoys me) is that OE
is somewhat brain dead as a Mail program: its printed output is often
a dog's breakfast; you can't delete attachments from emails; you can't
*copy* messages to folders; you can't ... [but you get the idea].

Cheers, Phred.
