OE Start-up Problem

Just got a new computer running Win XP. When I re-boot my computer and open
OE, previously deleted email comes up. How can I stop this.

Making a new Identity in OE didn't solve the problem. When I rebooted the old
messages reappear. I also disconnected my cable modem to verify that they
were not being resent by my Internet provider.

It's possible the Deleted Items.dbx and possibly the Inbox.dbx are
corrupted.

If that is the source of the issue, it might be solved as follows. Move all
messages out of those folders into one created specifically to hold those
messages, then close Outlook Express and find both Deleted Items.dbx and
Inbox.dbx and delete them. When OE is next started, it will create new and
uncorrupted copies of those dbx files. The dbx files are usually in the
following location, Documents and Settings\Your User ID\Local
Settings\Application Data\Identities. Then, click the plus signs next to
all of the sub-folders in Identities, select Outlook Express and you should
find the appropriate dbx files there.

If the above doesn't resolve the issue, you might want to try this question
in the Outlook Express 6.0 newsgroup and be sure to tell them what you've
done up until that time:

If the above link breaks, just copy and paste it into a run box or the
address bar in Internet Explorer.
