To archive my messages in OE, I export them to Outlook and then save an
Outlook folder as a PST file. I save it without any encryption. I would like
to be able to search in Windows Explorer through my PST files to find which
ones contain messages that contain certain text. However, it always comes up
with no results. Is there a way to accomplish what I want?

OE stores its messages in DBX files, not PST files. If you go to Tools |
Options | Maintenance | Store Folder and it will tell you where they are.

Frank,

Thanks for your reply.

I know where my message folders are stored. That is not my question.

Whether my messages are in a DBX file or they have been exported to a PST
file, is there a way that I can use the search function in Windows Explorer
to look for a text string within a set of DBX or PST files? Whenever I try to
search for files of type PST containing text "xyz text", it always returns
the message that no files were found, even when I know that "xyz text" exists
in one or more messages within one or more PST files in my search range. That
tells me that for some reason it is not searching (or is not able to search)
within the contents of the PST files. I want to know if there's a way to get
the search function to look at the contents of a PST file.

Thanks again for your help!

Not as far as I know.
