Steve

I have a Windows Millenium operating sysstem. The outlook
express icon is missing from both the task bar and the
start menu. Could someone please tell me how to restore
outlook express and access my emails? Thanks.

In Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Outlook Express. Right-click on
MSIMN.EXE > Send to > Desktop (create a shortcut)

Drag the Desktop shortcut to Start menu (top) and then to [Quick Launch?]
taskbar.

Next, make sure OE is your default Mail Client:
http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx and then: http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Have you been having problems with IE6-SP1? Did you attempt to reinstall
WinME?
IE Help>About> what version (e.g., 6.0.1234.5678XX)?
OE Help>About> what version (e.g., 6.00.1234.5678)?
2. Copy/paste the following line into an IE Addressbar, click on GO, then
copy/paste the results into your reply:
javascript:navigator.appMinorVersion
Thanks for your suggestions. However, when I opened
Outlook Express in Windows Explorer, there was no
MSIMN.EXE among the files.
I have not had any problems using IE6-SPI, and have not
reinstalled WinMe.
Also when "javascript:navigator.appMinorVersion" was
pasted in the IE Address bar, I got an "invalid syntax"
error.
My apologies!! Upon further examination, I realised that
there is actually a MSIMN file without the "EXE" extension
in Windows Explorer. When I opened the file, this launched
Outlook Express. Thanks very much for your assistance.
