oe error

I tried to update to IE6. Every time I try to open I get
blue screen with error OE:0028:c00587c9. I end up having
to delete the whole file to use Netscape to get on-line.
Tried to reload my old disc with IE 5.01. Won't let me do
it because it still detects a "newer version" even though
I've tried to delete all newer files. I'm stuck. Help!!

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.
