Hi TMacK
You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, which really is a
must when asking for help in the newsgroups, and although you have posted OE
is suspecet that you mean IE as the default browser. If this is correct, try
the following as it may apply
to your OS and see if it helps:
How to Make Internet Explorer the Default Web Browser (Q284456)

Also check settings in Add/Remove Programs > Set Program Access and
Defaults.
or..
In XP log on to the Admin account
Go to >Start>click on "Set Program Access and Defaults"
If you don't see a list there to select from, click on the double down
arrows at the right end of the line which will open the list.

For WinXP SP1 and above, you can use the "Set Program Access and Defaults"
feature.
Or....Available in XP SP1 and Windows 2000 SP4 (i think) and above
Equivalent command-line for setting IE as default (tested in XP)
shmgrate.exe OCInstallReinstallIE
and/or..
Start>Run>Type IE4UINIT.EXE
Hit enter
This creates a shortcut to iexplore.exe and places it in the Quick Launch
and Start Menu > All Programs.
Other options:
Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser -
option does not work:

Try this:
Open IE>Tools>Internet Options>Programs tab
Make sure "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default
browser" is
CHECKED.
Press Ok, and when you next run IE, a confirmation
dialog box should appear asking you whether you want it to be the
default browser again. Click Yes.

To reset Internet Explorer settings
If you installed another Web browser after installing Internet
Explorer and Internet Tools, some of your Internet Explorer settings
may have changed. You can reset your Internet Explorer settings to
their original defaults, including your home page and search pages,
and choice of default browser, without changing your other browser's
settings.
1.. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
2.. Click the Programs tab.
3.. Click the Reset Web Settings button.
Web Settings button
[[Click this to reset the default Internet Explorer settings for your home
and search pages, and prompt to make Internet Explorer your default browser.
Note: This only resets these settings if you have installed another Web
browser after installing Internet Explorer and Internet Tools, and that
browser has changed the default settings.]]

How to make a good newsgroup post:

I was having some problems with OE so downloaded Firefox, just to see if it
would work properly. At that time I chose to make Firefox my default
browser, but now realize that I really want OE as the default. I'm running
xp
home.
What do I do to get OE as my default browser again?
Thanx!
