Hi,
When viewing newsgroups, I used to have a horizontal scroll bar at the
bottom of my top pane. For some reason, it's now gone. How can I get it
back.
Thanks,
jll

Hi jll,

It would only be there if the column width exceeded the viewing area.

You can get it back, although I can't imagine why, by dragging one of the
column headers to a larger size. Move you mouse to the area where Subject
and From meet and drag the Subject column to the right or any of the other
columns.

Now for the obvious question, why would you want to have to scroll
horizontally?

That worked! Thanks a lot.

Hi, I don't like to open large messages (lots of bytes). Scrolling shows me
the size of the message. If there is a simpler way to do this, please let me
know.
Thanks,
jll

RClick on any column header, choose columns... , click on size and move up.

jll, all you need to do is click on one of the dividers between the column
headings and drag it to the right. At some point, a bottom scroll bar will
pop up, and you can adjust the various columns to the width you prefer.
What Thomas said is great advice, although I fnd that I want to see all the
columns, and have managed to adjust the width of the various columns so that
everything shows at once, and yet is not too truncated.

Great! The system works! I've lost a little of the message header, but I can
live with that.
Thanks again to all contributers,
jll
