OE 6.0 won't send or receive or delete messages--suddenly

I got a new Dell desktop with OE 6.0 (Windows Mail) already installed. It was
working fine, then, a couple of days ago, just stopped...when I try to send
or receive, I get an error message numbered 0x80004005 . when I try to delete
a message, I get "An unknown error has occurred."

I am working in a Vista environment. Does anyone think that has anything to
do with it? I notice that with some software, Vista lets it run for a few
months, then makes it not work anymore...

Are these the same problems everyone else is having? Anyone solved anything
yet?

Chances are, you are using a non-compatible antivirus program.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee or Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled.
Replace with a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:

Changing your antivirus should prevent further damage, but
it may not undo the damage already done. If the undeletable
message is anywhere but the Outbox, just ignore it for now.

Yes, many others are having this same problem.
Windows Mail has quite a few bugs, so many people are
upgrading to Windows Live Mail:

OE6 and Windows Mail are not the same program.
