This is just a guess as I'm not completely sure I understand the nature of
the problem. However, if your graphics card is sharing memory with main
system memory, that might be the issue.
XP is graphics intensive, now, add to all the eye candy the visualizations
in Media Player; if the graphics card is sharing memory as opposed to having
its own onboard memory, that could be the issue.
