I recently acquired a new quad computer and have been setting up the
programs. All went well until I tried to install the EastWest Orchestra
program. It is on 5 DVDs and installs in two sections. I could install the
first two DVDs fine but when I tried the third it ran for a short while and
then slowed up and froze the system. I have tried everything I can think of.
I tried to install the EastWest Choir and managed to get three DVDs to
install and again it froze the system.

There is nothing wrong with the computer and it appears the problem is in
this installation of XP Pro SP3. I got a message on one attempt telling me it
could not finish installing because it could not run a program. It did not
tell me which program it could not run. It is most frustrating and any
thoughts about this would be most welcome.

You should run MS Updates to install critical updates only before you try to
install anything elses.

Run MS Update, review the history have you installed any driver updates?

My system was fully updated before I ran the EastWest install. The only
recent updates I have used were for a Creative ZS soundcard and a Brothers
HL-2140 laser printer.

THe computer is a bare bones. I installed XP.
