==========

What is the program, and what does its vendor say about problems like this?

Patrick,

The program is by Data Becker '30,000 Business Cards'. I purchased it at a
local software vendor.
The CD lists 2006 Topics Entertainment, Inc. There is a site for tech
support www.topics-ent.com/support. It's somewhat difficult to navigate. I
am working on it.

OK, that helps. Are you using an administrator-level account?

What appears to be happening is that the app uses a database component,
which keeps its settings in the registry, and there is a permissions issue
preventing it from doing this.

This would be likely if you were using some sort of limited account, but
it's also possible that you need to get into a specific spot in the registry
and reset the permissions to full control for a specific user. However, to
do this, you have to know where in the registry you need to go (and your
account must be admin-level). You could identify it by examining the
registry on a system that it did install and run on.
