I have an Access 2K DB (split into two files data & user
file). I want someone outside of our firewall to be able
to connect to he data file using user file via ODBC (or
anything else that will work...I'm open to suggestions).

Our network guy says he can open up the ports needed to
get through the firewall but I don't know what ports ODBC
uses when dealing with Access to Access connection.

HELP!

Your network guy may be able to create a remote login for your user via a
dial in connection or he may be able to create a VPN connection and the user
will login as if they had a network account and be able to open the database
via his user file. His links would most likely have to be reset in order to
get the backend data. I do not know of all the pluses/minus of setting up a
VPN, but your network admin should be able to do some research on this
possible solution.
